A local flour mill (atta chakki)
From a paper ledger to WhatsApp, with approvals
Before: Every customer's wheat deposits, flour withdrawals and balance lived in a handwritten ledger. Every update needed a phone call or a note in the book, and nobody outside the mill could see a balance.
What we built
- Customers check their balance or request a deposit or withdrawal by sending a WhatsApp message
- Each request is logged as pending until the owner approves or rejects it in a mobile admin panel
- Approved entries update the balance instantly and send the customer a WhatsApp confirmation, in their preferred language
| Result | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Customers on the system | Paper ledger | 500+ |
| Answering a balance query | 2–3 weeks | Customers check on WhatsApp themselves |
| Balance disputes | Many | Zero |
